It was just a few months ago that we told you about plans for the surface parking lot at 301 West North Avenue in Old Town. Sedgwick Development put together designs to turn the lot into a mid-rise residential building with a nice quasi-turreted corner facing northeast. So where are they now?
In the photo above from Joe Zekas over at YoChicago! you can see that there has been quite a lot of progress since May. Construction fencing, and elevator core. Concrete walls and columns. And a smattering of permits that will make the seven-story, 69-unit building a reality.
Although things look mighty tidy in the photograph, Marty Paris, president of Sedgwick Development, tells us the project is “full speed ahead.”
The contractor is currently in the foundation phase of the project. We expect the mason and structural steel contractors to be mobilized next month and you should see vertical construction in October
